Job Description

Summary: Fabricate parts or products according to shipping order, production drawings, and quality requirements.  Perform a variety of routine tasks to assist in production activities.  Employees are required to follow all safety rules, policies and procedures.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
  1. Operate CNC plasma table safely
  2. Positions workpiece on table
  3. Select proper consumables & assemble cutting head
  4. Select material & load burn table   
  5. Read, understand and comprehend basic blueprints and drawings 
  6. Must be able to use basic measuring devices, including tape measure & calipers  
  7. Perform all necessary quality checks during production and follow procedures when defective parts are discovered
  8. Multitask & prioritizes work assignments    
  9. Maintain a clean work area
  10. Work independently with minimal supervision  
  11. Enforce and practice the principals of 5-S
  12. Follow all company safety guidelines

Education and/or Experience:  Required:   
  1. General knowledge of machines and tools 
  2. Basic Computer skills
  3. General knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control 
  4. Basic knowledge of simple arithmetic
  5. Good writing and communication skills; speak, write, and understand the English language
  6. Be able to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution to a problem
  7. Must be forklift certified   
 Preferred:
 1.   Experience as a CNC Operator.2.   High school diploma or GED.  Physical Demands:
 The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.  
  1. Standing and walking for long periods.  Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  2. Lift to 40lbs unassisted and occasionally lift and/or move heavier items utilizing a team lift.
  3. Repetitive use of hands/motion and manual dexterity, finger dexterity, and multi-limb coordination.
  4. Use of appropriate personal protective equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, respirator mask, and coveralls.
  5. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral must be forklift certified   
 Work Environment:
 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne contaminants, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The work environment is not climate-controlled.  The noise level may exceed the permissible exposure limit and hearing protection may be required.  Mechanical equipment and moving objects. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-Time. Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM. May require overtime based on business needs. Travel: No travel is expected for this position. Safety Sensitive Position: This position is a safety-sensitive position 
$18.00 an hour temp to hire.
