1st Shift - Fabrication Technician
Job Description
Location: Oklahoma City, OK**
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm
Pay: $19.00+ DOE
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Technician to support daily operations in a fabrication and weld shop environment. This role is responsible for organizing raw materials, reading and interpreting blueprints and BOMs, and safely operating fabrication equipment including plasma tables, brake presses, band saws, and blast booths.
The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to follow production schedules with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, manufacturing instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Pull, verify, and prepare raw materials according to BOM requirements and production schedule.
Safely operate fabrication equipment including:
Plasma table
Band saw
Brake press
Blast booth
Perform tank prep operations including pressure testing and prepping components for paint.
Accurately read tape measures to 1/16", and convert fractions to decimals (.0625).
Operate cranes, pallet jacks, and forklifts safely.
Use a range of hand and power tools required for fabrication work.
Follow instructions, maintain focus, and demonstrate a positive, professional attitude.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times.
High school diploma or GED required.
2+ years of fabrication, welding shop, manufacturing, or related experience preferred.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical documents.
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fabrication processes.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and nationwide background check.
Basic computer knowledge.
Strong communication skills; able to understand written and verbal instructions.
Ability to perform basic math including fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, and division.
Candidates must be able to:
Stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and reach throughout the shift.
Lift 10 lbs regularly, 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
Work in environments with humidity, airborne particles, machinery, and moderate noise levels.
Use peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjust focus for detailed fabrication tasks.
Strong job knowledge with the ability to learn new skills quickly.
Dependable and punctual with consistent attendance.
Takes responsibility, follows instructions, and communicates effectively.
Maintains professionalism and a neat appearance.
Safety-focused with the ability to identify and report hazards.
