Job Description
Assembly Tech ISchedule: Monday-Thursday 5am-4pm Overtime as needed on Fridays Pay: $19.00 -$24.00 Hourly
JOB SUMMARY:To assemble finished product using sub-assemblies, parts, and fasteners by prints, written instruction and verbal instructions according to customer specification sheet and company policies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Reviews Sales Order and Build Sheet and/or Parts List (PL) to determine required assembly, exterior finish on product, and any special options.Checks inventory shelves and stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assemblies, parts, and fasteners for the order.Checks shelves for required levels of parts and notifies supervisor of low quantities and/or shortages. Checks power and hand tools for correct operation.Pulls parts from shelves, storage units as required by Build Sheets and/or Parts List (PL) and sets on staging cart.Fills out tags for any shortage of parts and places on staging cart.Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts, and sub-assemblies, per Build Sheet, Parts List and/or Sales Order.Sets up test equipment to pressure/hydro-test built units.Performs all necessary testing on completed units as required by process.Paints parts and/or completed units with proper products and equipment.Cleans and maintains any or all equipment as required by use or job function.Assist teammates in lifting heavier products, work assignments, etc as needed.Fills out all necessary paperwork related to the job functions.Checks that all newly arrived inventory is placed in correct bins, shelves, drawers, etc.From work experience, resolves assembly and packing problems. Reports any problems to supervisor for assistance.Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.Wears proper PPE as essential to specific job functions. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Fills inventory shelves with products as required.Keeps work areas clean including sweeping, mopping, dusting and disposing of trash as needed.Sets up and packages products for shipment as needed.Interacts with Sales Department personnel as needed with inquiries to deliveries and job status.May work in other work areas as assigned on a periodic basis to help facilitate work flow. JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND INHERENT SKILLS:Experience with mechanical assembly and skill set of use of a wide range of mechanical hand tools including wrenches, socket sets, drivers, screw drivers, hand power tools, torque wrenches, tape measure, calipers and micrometers.Experience with electronic assembly, trouble shooting, and use of basic electronic instruments.Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.Must be able to perform work functions, assemblies etc. while standing.Will be required to lift over 50 pounds on a semi-repetitive basis.Experience in intricate hand assembly in a paced environment.Ability to perform intricate assemblies in exact order on a repetitive basis.Ability to read, speak and write American technical English instructions and documents.Must have legible handwriting.Must have 20-20 vision or wear eyewear corrective to this requirement.Have dexterity with hands and fingers.Possess an ability to observe detail, and to follow work instructions, prints and plans in order.Ability to drive a forklift a plus.Familiarity with computers and Microsoft a plus
