Painter Helper job description
Pay Rate: $21.40 per hour (2nd shift) Monday-Friday 4p-12:30a
Painter Helpers hang the parts from a conveyer above them using hooks. A lifting platform is available for parts that cannot be lifted by hand. Another Painter Helper is located in the wash booth, which resembles a small carwash bay. Rubber boots and aprons are provided as well as face shields, which are required when in the wash booth. As the parts come through on the conveyer, the employee uses a spray wand to wash the parts. The parts are then sent to the painters and then into the paint oven. When the parts come out of the oven, other Painter Helpers take the parts off the conveyor and put them on the appropriate pallet to be taken to assembly. The supervisor assigns the work and Painter Helpers are often moved between those stations. The Painter Helper position requires lifting and may not the best fit for someone short, as they would have to lift the parts higher than someone taller, though we do have short employees who do the job successfully.
