Centerless Grinder Operator
Job Description
Centerless Grinder Operator Shift hours: 6:00am – 4:30pm (10 working hours, plus 30 minute lunch break) Monday – Thursday; Shift is 4 days X 10 hours; Overtime available (early mornings, weekends Fri-Sun)Pay Range: $20-$26.00 Hourly (Based on Experience)
Centerless Grinder Operator RoleOperates industrial centerless grinding machines to grind metal bars and other parts. They ensure the machines are correctly set up, monitor the grinding process and inspect finished products to ensure quality. The purpose of a Grinder Operator is to use grinding machines to produce finished parts and components from raw materials. This involves setting up and operating the machines, ensuring that all safety protocols are observed, and inspecting the parts for accuracy. The Grinder Operator is also responsible for maintaining the machines and performing basic repairs as required.

Grinder Operator Duties
- Set up, operate and maintain grinding machines
- Select grinding wheels and other related tools
- Perform quality control checks on products
- Operate straightening press
- Ensure that safety regulations are adhered to
- Interact with supervisors and other team members
- Experience with centerless grinding, or other grinding operations is a plus, but not required
- Experience operating manual or CNC machine tools in a shop environment
- Ability to take and read measurements (micrometer, calipers)
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Reliability – commitment to report to work consistently
- Ability to read and interpret machine-ready drawings
- Ability to operate a grinding machine, or be able to pick up on training the company will provide
- Ability to use measuring equipment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Good manual dexterity
