Job Description
Centerless Hone Operator Schedule: Monday-FridayHours: 8:00am – 4:30pm (8 working hours, plus 30 minute lunch break) Overtime availablePay Range: $20-$26 Hourly Based on experience Hone Operator RoleA Hone Operator operates industrial honing machines to remove material from tubular metal parts to designated surface finish callouts. Operator will ensure the machines are correctly set up, monitor the grinding process and inspect finished products to ensure quality. The Hone Operator is also responsible for maintaining the machines and performing basic repairs as required.
Hone Operator Duties:Set up, operate and maintain honing machinesSelect honing heads and other related toolsPerform quality control checks on productsEnsure that safety regulations are adhered toInteract with supervisors and other team members
Hone Operator Requirements:Experience with honing is a plus, but not requiredExperience operating manual or CNC machine tools in a shop environment is a plusAbility to take and read measurements (micrometer, calipers)Good communication skillsAbility to follow instructionsReliability – commitment to report to work consistently
Hone Operator Skills:Ability to read and interpret machine-ready drawingsAbility to operate a honing machine, or be able to pick up on training the company will provideAbility to use measuring equipmentAbility to work with minimal supervision
Hone Operator Personal Traits:Ability to work independentlyAbility to read and interpret technical drawingsExcellent problem solving skillsAttention to detailGood manual dexterity
