Commercial Lines Account Executive

Job Description

The Account Executive is responsible for assisting in the production of new and renewal accounts in keeping with agency and individual producer goals and to provide in-depth risk management support for high-profile customers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Market, service, develop and retain assigned accounts. Meet established account development and retention objectives, as well as targeted mix of business, underwriting guidelines, and volume commitments
  2. Perform risk analysis surveys, obtain renewal information, complete applications, obtain markets, deliver policies, coordinate efforts of loss control or other services, and resolve service problems including research for compliance and industry changes that affect the customer and the policies in force
  3. Retain and develop accounts by making recommendations regarding risk handling to the Producer and/or Customer. Seek the most cost-effective requested insurance coverages, prepare proposals, evaluate and recommend other lines of coverage, and provide additional resources for the client as needed, including but not limited to due diligence on the behalf of the customer for mergers and acquisitions
  4. Negotiate with the insurance companies for the most proper coverage options
  5. Assist the Producer in preparing/making presentations of insurance programs to key accounts/prospects including but not limited to Stewardship Reports and RFP’s
  6. Ability to conduct renewal meetings with customer in behalf of producer
  7. Ability to present renewal proposals independently of producer
  8. Keep abreast of all new sales programs
  9. Review all activities relating to the public, customers and companies to avoid issues involving potential errors and omissions
  10. Refer current and prospective clients to Employee Benefits Department and to Personal Insurance Department for solicitation of those lines of business
  11. Participate in seminars and other training to maintain required licenses and for knowledge and skill development
  12. Provide team leadership skills for Senior Account Managers, Account Managers and assist in Mentoring program established by Department Manager
  13. Assist Department in meeting annual training goals for over-all department education
  14. Perform other duties as requested
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Must be a self-starter and creative with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to influence others
  • Must be a team player and willing to find and negotiate win-win solutions for our customers, companies, and Agency
  • Must possess good presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills a must
  • Must have strong computer skills, Intermediate/Advanced level of Excel and Word, able to prepare Power Point presentations and be able to effectively utilize the Agency’s management systems

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Resident Insurance Agent/Producer License for Oklahoma – Property and Casualty
  • College degree preferred; CPCU, CIC/CRIS/CRM/ARM designations. Minimum 10 years insurance experience as Account Manager or Senior Account Manager required with strong experience in agency operations of commercial lines and surety coverages, field underwriting for carrier appetites, marketing and rating
  • Proven experience working with large commercial lines customers, high profile customers
  • Average size book estimated $600,000 + - revenue
  • Adherence to Company policies and procedures
  • Ability to fulfill job responsibilities through acceptable attendance
