Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The prewiring personnel are responsible for the prewiring of components on commercial/industrial HVAC & refrigeration equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.Read and understand engineering drawings and instructions for various industrial units. Read and understand bills of material.Install conduit and wire as required.Bend Electrical Manual Tubing (EMT) with hand bender/manual crank bender. Pre wire all compressors and transformers in order to make lights and switches functional. Must be able to use the tools and equipment needed for this job properly.Wire all sensors required.Check work and ensure quality.Clean work area as required.Charge time accurately in time and attendance system on computer to ensure accurate labor distribution and payroll.Work overtime as necessary.Follow manufacturing instructions, work by oneself without constant supervision, be self-motivated and complete job assignments on time.Attend work as required.Arrive for work on time.Contribute to team effort by working with others and accomplishing related functions as needed.Complete any task as assigned by supervisor as needed.Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies and company procedures. Care for tools and equipment. Advise maintenance of equipment that is not working properly.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience: A high school level of education is preferred for this position in order to continue upward advancement in the company. The employee must be able to understand directions from superiors. Previous electrical experience preferred.
Skills: Effective communications skills, good listening skills, ability to read and comprehend written instructions, basic mathematical skills, including the ability to read a tape measure down to 1/16 of an inch, ability to control operations of equipment or system, monitoring/assessing performance of yourself, other individuals or organization to make improvements or take corrective action, good people skills in order to work in teams with others in the organization. Ability to read industrial blueprints.
