Industrial Painter- 3rd Shift
Job Description
- Surface Preparation:
- Clean and prepare surfaces by sandblasting, grinding, power washing, or scraping to remove dirt, rust, and old paint.
- Apply primers or coatings to enhance adhesion and longevity.
- Application of Coatings:
- Use spray guns, brushes, rollers, or other equipment to apply industrial-grade paints, coatings, and finishes.
- Ensure the proper consistency and mixture of paints or coatings.
- Work with a variety of industrial coatings like epoxy, enamel, and urethane.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety standards and wear proper protective gear, including respirators, goggles, gloves, and coveralls.
- Ensure work areas are kept clean and free of hazards.
- Follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines regarding safety practices and handling of hazardous materials.
- Inspection and Maintenance:
- Inspect surfaces for imperfections or damage and correct before proceeding with painting.
- Monitor the condition of coatings and reapply as necessary for maintenance purposes.
- Equipment Handling:
- Operate and maintain painting equipment, including spray guns, compressors, and other tools.
- Ensure that equipment is properly cleaned after each use to maintain its functionality.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Keep records of materials used, work completed, and any safety concerns or issues during the painting process.
- Report any damage or irregularities in equipment or materials.
- Knowledge of different types of coatings and their uses.
- Ability to handle painting tools and equipment effectively.
- Attention to detail and precision.
- Physical stamina for standing, bending, and working in varied environments.
- Basic knowledge of industrial safety procedures and equipment.
- Work is often performed outdoors or in industrial facilities such as factories, warehouses, or construction sites.
- The role can involve exposure to hazardous materials, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
- Industrial painters might work in confined spaces or at heights, depending on the job.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- On-the-job training or apprenticeship in industrial painting.
- Previous experience in painting or a related field is often preferred.
Pay is $18 to $22 DOE
