Job Description
Job Title: Golf Course Groundskeeper Helper
Job Summary:
The Golf Course Groundskeeper Helper assists the grounds maintenance team in maintaining the golf course, landscaping, and surrounding property to ensure a safe, clean, and visually appealing environment for players and guests. This position supports daily groundskeeping operations and works under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent or Lead Groundskeeper.
Pay & Employment Term:
Pay: Starting at $16.00 per hour and up, depending on experience.
Employment Type: Seasonal position expected to last approximately 3 months.
Opportunity: Employees who demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and good performance may be considered for permanent employment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with mowing greens, fairways, tees, and rough areas using appropriate equipment.
Help maintain bunkers by raking sand and edging bunker lines.
Perform landscaping tasks such as trimming, edging, weeding, and planting.
Assist with irrigation tasks, including checking sprinkler heads and reporting leaks or issues.
Operate basic groundskeeping equipment such as blowers, trimmers, and utility carts.
Remove debris, leaves, and trash from the course and surrounding areas.
Help prepare the course for daily play, tournaments, and special events.
Follow all safety procedures and properly maintain equipment.
Support seasonal projects such as aeration, overseeding, and fertilization.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Basic knowledge of landscaping or lawn care is a plus, but not required.
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Willingness to learn golf course maintenance techniques.
Must be dependable and punctual.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift 50 lbs.
Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods.
Work Environment:
Outdoor golf course environment.
Exposure to varying weather conditions, landscaping equipment, and natural terrain.
Schedule:
- M-Th: 8 hrs., Friday: 4hrs. Half the crew comes in Saturday or Sunday: 4 hrs.
