Job Title: CMM Operator (Coordinate Measuring Machine Operator)
Department: Quality Assurance / Manufacturing
Reports To: Quality Manager / Quality Supervisor
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: South OKCJob Summary:We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CMM Operator to join our Quality Assurance team. The CMM Operator is responsible for performing precise dimensional inspections on parts and components using coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) and other metrology tools to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CMM equipment to inspect machined, cast, or fabricated components.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, and specifications.
  • Create, edit, and run inspection programs using CMM software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or MODUS (depending on company equipment).
  • Record and analyze inspection results, and generate detailed inspection reports.
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections.
  • Maintain and calibrate metrology equipment in accordance with quality standards.
  • Work closely with Quality Engineers, Production, and Engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocols.
Requirements:Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience operating CMMs in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Experience with CMM software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality standards is a plus.
Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good understanding of measurement principles and metrology tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing and quality control environment.
  • May require standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device, or precision machining industry.
  • Ability to write CMM programs from scratch.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and MSA.
This is a first shift position, temp-to-hire
