Centerless Grinder Operator
Job Description
Centerless Grinder OperatorSchedule: Monday-Friday Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm (8 working hours, plus 30 minute lunch break) Overtime Available Pay Range: $20-$26 hourly Based on Experience Grinder Operator RoleA Grinder Operator operates industrial grinding machines to grind metal parts to designated surface finish callouts. Grinding process include cylindrical, surface, blanchard, and ID. Operator will ensure the machines are correctly set up, monitor the grinding process and inspect finished products to ensure quality. The purpose of a Grinder Operator is to use grinding machines to produce finished parts and components from raw materials. This involves setting up and operating the machines, ensuring that all safety protocols are observed, and inspecting the parts for accuracy. The Grinder Operator is also responsible for maintaining the machines and performing basic repairs as required.
Grinder Operator Duties:Set up, operate and maintain grinding machinesSelect grinding wheels and other related toolsPerform quality control checks on productsOperate straightening pressEnsure that safety regulations are adhered toInteract with supervisors and other team members
Grinder Operator Requirements:Experience with grinding is a plus, but not requiredExperience operating manual or CNC machine tools in a shop environment is a plusAbility to take and read measurements (micrometer, calipers)Good communication skillsAbility to follow instructionsReliability – commitment to report to work consistently
Grinder Operator Skills:Ability to read and interpret machine-ready drawingsAbility to operate a grinding machine, or be able to pick up on training the company will provideAbility to use measuring equipmentAbility to work with minimal supervision
Grinder Operator Personal Traits:Ability to work independentlyAbility to read and interpret technical drawingsExcellent problem solving skillsAttention to detailGood manual dexterity
