Material Handler
Job Description
Material HandlerShift: 5am-3:30pmPay: $18.00 hourly
Summary:
Material handlers work together as a team and individually to meet or exceed company quality standards, time standards, and schedule requirements.
Material Handler Responsibilities:
This job requires the individual to work with and around overhead cranes, forklifts, trucks, power equipment, automated equipment and other hazardous processes which requires this job to be classified a SAFETY SENSITIVE position.
• Load and unload materials and merchandise from trucks.
• Pack the material appropriately before loading.
• Locate raw material and packed products.
• Follow instructions to understand material moving orders.
• Operate industrial trucks and electric hoists to handle material moving and loading.
• Operate forklifts to ensure easy movement of materials.
• Productivity level must consistently equal the Company’s established productivity requirements, as defined by work instructions.
• Workmanship must meet the Company’s quality standards.
• Follow Premier safety policies and procedures.
• Sustain 5’s requirements.
Skills:
• Must demonstrate the desire to perform in a professional manner as a member of a team and give inputs on activities that will help complete project assignments in a timely and efficient manner while upholding the safety and quality standards.
• Pass a forklift training class.
• Able to read and write basic shop communications
• Able to use shop tape measure
• Basic Fabrication shop experience
