Reports To: Regional Sales Manager
Compensation: Base Salary + Commission
Perks: Company Car, Fuel Card, Phone, Laptop, Benefits PackagePosition Summary:We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Outside Sales Representative to sell telecommunications equipment and services, including payphones and inmate communication systems, to correctional facilities (local, state, and federal). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in B2B sales, especially within government or institutional sectors, and be comfortable working in a regulated and security-conscious environment.Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within correctional institutions (jails, prisons, detention centers).
  • Conduct onsite visits to facilities and build relationships with decision-makers including wardens, facility managers, and procurement officers.
  • Present tailored communication solutions including payphones, calling plans, and integrated inmate management systems.
  • Manage the entire sales process from prospecting through closing and post-sale support.
  • Collaborate with technical and support teams to ensure successful installation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Maintain CRM records, prepare proposals, and deliver regular activity reports.
  • Stay informed on industry regulations, bidding processes, and relevant compliance standards.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of outside sales experience, preferably in telecommunications, security, or institutional services.
  • Experience selling to government entities or correctional facilities a strong plus.
  • Ability to travel extensively within a regional territory (overnight travel may be required).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
