Job Description

Job SummaryPerform surface preparation and painting functions, including: material cleaning, sanding and deburring, transferring materials between the paint booth and other work areas.  Complete occasional metal working functions, which may include cut, punch, form, or weld operations and visual inspection of products or sub-assemblies, utilizing work instructions, read and interoperate drawings.Major Duties & Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare the surface of parts to be painted and set-up work prior to painting
  1. Understand or learn gun, pump, and other equipment operations to produce quality part finish economically
  2. Follow proper paint procedures including distance from gun to part, flow rates, air pressure, and overlap
  • Work closely with fabricators and finishers
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and cleanup.
  • Maintain quality control including, 1st part and in-process inspections to ensure product meets quality standards.
  • Housekeeping
Minimum Qualifications
  • Good attendance and safety record
  • Some paint experience, or a willingness to learn and achieve in a new trade (Willing to train the right candidate)
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and technical documents such as paint mixing procedures, safety rules, and material specification drawings that pertain to paint
  • Available for overtime work
  • High quality work ethic and attention to detail
