Coating Technician

Job Description

Coating TechnicianResponsible for sandblasting, prepping, and painting components, subassemblies, and finished mobile oilfield equipment. Performs mechanical tasks related to paint production as needed.Primary Responsibilities
  • Sandblast, prep, and manually paint components during and after mechanical assembly 
  • Apply primer, paint, and clear coat to specifications using proper spray techniques 
  • Repair paint flaws and imperfections as needed 
  • Measure and maintain proper wet and dry mil coating thicknesses 
  • Complete required paint and sandblast documentation 
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions 
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area 
  • Clean and maintain paint equipment and tools 
  • Support and follow all workplace safety procedures 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma 
  • Industrial painting experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment preferred 
  • Ability to mix industrial paints according to procedures and regulations 
  • Ability to read blueprints 
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, PPE, and follow safety procedures 
  • Strong time management and organizational skills 
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy 
  • Problem-solving and adaptability in a fast-paced environment 
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude

 Schedule:  Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 5 PM (with a 1-hour paid lunch), Saturdays as neededPay: $18 to $22 an hourRequired qualifications or experience: Must have Automotive painting / Industrial painting, including preparation for paint. Sandblasting experience is also preferred.
