Job Description

The RolePlans, coordinates, and directs quality program for manufactured products by implementing and maintaining quality best-practices for structural, mechanical, and electrical systems. What you will be responsible for:
  1. Manages the Quality Control function in accordance with Quality Assurance system requirements, goals, and objectives. 
  2. Manages certifications and coordinate all internal / external ISO & customer audits.
  3. Organize and maintain Quality Control activities in a way that optimizes resources while achieving departmental results; set and plan objectives for self and Quality Control personnel in order to achieve common company goals.  
  4. Communicates directly with key customer team members on internal inspection procedures, newly developed processes, and remedial plans for all delivered customer products.
  5. Manages, plans, coordinates, and heads the quality control program designed to ensure continuous production/service consistent with established standards.
  6. Identifies problems and resolves issues by rapid implementation of controlled workable solutions; understanding the implications of actions and decisions on the company’s goals and strategies.
  7. Represent the perspective of the customer in order to improve work activities and customer satisfaction. 
  8. Develops and ensure adherence to job specific quality plans. 
  9. Participates in quality management and continuous improvement teams. 
  10. Maintains and provides key quality metrics like supplier OTD, supplier quality, FPY, COPQ, etc
  11. Participate in Vendor Surveys for qualification, on-going surveillance, and corrective action efforts. 
  12. Maintains the Quality Control Manual in accordance with Quality Assurance requirements.
  13. Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, and ability to work on–site.
  14. Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
  15. Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.
 SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with Company policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Directing employees’ work; setting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work of employees; planning and controlling the budget for department; providing for the safety of the employees; planning the work; determining the techniques to be used; apportioning the work among the workers.
 COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS (knowledge, skills, and abilities)
  1. Personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  2. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical specifications, codes and regulatory requirements, and quality charts. Ability to present ideas and communicate information in a clear and concise manner. Ability to write reports, outside correspondence, and work instructions. Ability to act as liaison with vendors and customers on inspection matters.
  3. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  4. Ability to use modern problem-solving techniques to define problems, collect data, establish root causes of problems and develop action plans to eliminate the root causes. Ability to ensure that the costs and associated actions taken to correct deficiencies or unsatisfactory conditions are appropriate to the magnitude of the problem and commensurate to the risks encountered.
 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
  1. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) preferred. Minimum 10 years related experience in Quality Control functions including dimensional inspection, code compliance (AWS, NEC, etc), calibration systems / records, . Previous experience operating in a continuous improvement or ISO 9000 environment preferred.
  2. ASME Codes and Nondestructive Testing Preferred.
 TRAVEL 
  1. Occasional travel (up to 20%) by land and /or air. Able to receive and maintain valid passport.
