Schedule

7a-3:30p, OT as needed




Summary of Position

Responsible for the handling of material, incoming and outbound, including material being processed.




Responsibilities and Duties
  • Retrieve material using forklift
  • Assure compliance with delivery and specification requirements of customer orders.
  • Pull and stage material according to the bill-of-lading and ensure the correct material is shipped to the customer. 
  • Obtain proof of identity from carriers and obtain the appropriate signatures on the bill-of-lading.
  • Receive incoming materials daily.
  • Process customer orders daily or within the required time stated on the ship tickets.
  • Prep and/or load outbound freight or trucks.
  • Deliver materials on truck in good condition with proper paperwork, if needed.
  • Assist daily in the storage of excess inventory.
  • Manage inventory through cycle count activity.
  • Maintain facility, vehicles and equipment.
  • Keeps immediate work area clean and organized throughout the day.
  • Uses precision when operating tools such as tape measures, micrometers, nibblers and calipers.
  • Adhere to DEA safety rules and quality standards.

Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Strong work ethic; self-motivated 
  • Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to measure using different tools
  • Ability to read and calculate numbers and data
  • Good organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction
  • Computer skills necessary

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2years of shipping/receiving experience
  • Forklift experience

Physical Requirements

Physical demands: 
  •  Sitting—Rarely
  •  Reach with hands or arms—Over ¾ of the time
  •  Bending/Climbing—Over ½ of the time

Working Conditions

Good working conditions. Frequent visual/auditory attention and involvement required to identify appropriate materials. Requires continuous use of computer to receive and give information.
