Job Description
Manufacturing shipping and receiving clerk manages the intake of raw materials and the dispatch of finished goods. They verify shipment accuracy, maintain inventory logs, operate heavy machinery, and prepare orders for transport, serving as the critical link between the factory floor and the supply chain Key Responsibilities
- Receiving: Unload delivery trucks, inspect incoming materials for damage, and verify against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Shipping: Prepare, package, and label outgoing products according to carrier regulations and customer specifications.
- Inventory Control: Log daily shipments, update ERP/SAP systems, and conduct regular cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy.
- Material Handling: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to transport materials to designated warehouse or production areas.
- Quality Assurance: Report missing, incorrect, or defective items and assist the quality team in resolving discrepancies.
- Compliance: Follow all environmental, safety, and operational protocols (e.g., proper PPE usage and hazardous material handling)
- Core Requirements
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED; typically 1–2 years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with computers and warehouse inventory tracking software (e.g., SAP, ERP, MS Excel).
- Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stand for long periods, and work in varying industrial temperatures.
