Job Description
Job Summary:The Fabricator will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints, working with raw materials, and using various tools and machinery to fabricate metal products and structures. The ideal candidate will have experience with welding, cutting, and assembling metal parts while ensuring precision, quality, and safety standards are met.Key Responsibilities:
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine material requirements and dimensions.
- Material Selection: Choose appropriate metals and materials based on job specifications.
- Cutting and Shaping: Use cutting tools, saws, plasma cutters, or laser cutters to shape metal materials according to project requirements.
- Welding: Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) to join metal components and structures.
- Assembly: Assemble metal parts using hand tools, welding, and mechanical fasteners.
- Inspection: Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure finished products meet design specifications and safety standards.
- Tool Operation: Operate and maintain fabrication tools and machines, ensuring they are in safe working condition.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Problem-Solving: Address and troubleshoot any fabrication challenges or discrepancies during the process.
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical certification preferred).
- Proven experience in metal fabrication, welding, or related fields.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Familiarity with various fabrication tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick).
- Ability to use hand tools (grinders, drills, etc.) and machinery (presses, saws, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Safety-conscious and able to follow OSHA standards.
- Certification in welding or fabrication.
- Experience with CNC machines or automated fabrication equipment.
- Ability to work with other materials, such as plastics or composites.
- Familiarity with quality control and inspection procedures.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to stand, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Work in an environment with exposure to noise, heat, and dust.
