Job Description
6 month contract.
The Solid Works Designer is responsible for the overall 3D design drawings of the spiral heat exchangers per customer order, and any related support structure. The Designer will work with the Project Manager and other Contract Order Team members to meet the contract order requirements and make continuous improvements in the tools and procedures used by the Engineering Deptartment and Contract Order Team. In this role, you will bring your skills to a fast-paced and high-energy environment. You’ll also bring your process improvement ideas to the table, as we’re constantly looking for ways to improve efficiency. As a part of the team, you will: • Responsible for overall design drawings for contract orders using solid works. • Attend and participate in internal kick-off meetings with the Contract Order Team. • Attend and participate in project meetings and gate reviews. • Perform required work to meet project milestones. • Participate in Roll-out (manufacturing start-up) project meetings. Responds to questions from Purchasing, Quality, and Production concerning design drawings. • Works with Project Manager to resolve issues during the design and manufacturing process. • • Supports Solid Works improvement projects. • Key team member in design automation program improvements
What you know: You have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or Technology or an Associate's Degree in same, Mechanical Engineer a plus, • 2 years’ experience with Solid Works 3D design drawings. • Experience working with design automation software, preferred. • ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code knowledge, use, and calculations. • Proficient with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook • Engineering software - Compress • MRP / ERP systems PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
• Physical Requirements (lifting, climbing, standing, equipment use) • Office environment with frequent attendance on the shop floor. • Safety equipment required when present on the shop floor – footwear, hearing, eyewear. • Environmental Factors (hazardous materials, work location, work surfaces, exposure). OTHER REQUIREMENTS • Occasional travel required to visit customers, manufacturing facilities, or sales company.
