Tool and Die Maker 1st Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday Pay Range: Based on Experience (Direct Hire)
Summary:The Tool and Die Maker will set up and operate machine tools and fabricate high-precision components for metalworking dies according to blueprints. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and improve tooling performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. They will also perform scheduled die maintenance, repair faults/damage, using manual, CNC machines, and pneumatic tools.
Responsibilities:Set up and operate machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, saws, drill press, and EDM machines.Machine, fit, and assemble precision tooling and verify conformance to drawing specifications. Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth mics, indicators, pin gauges, thread gauges, and functional gauges.Troubleshoot dies and recommend design improvements.Maintain accurate tooling documentation and records.Assist in troubleshooting die issues in operation to maintain quality and production.Work closely with engineers and other production staff to ensure that the tools and dies they produce meet the needs of the manufacturing process.
Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a Tool and Die Maker
Personal skills:Exposure in an ISO certified manufacturing environment.Good working knowledge of standard shop mathematics.Able to read and interpret technical prints, sketches, and design models.Knowledge of metal and other material properties.Ability to self-motivate and possess independent problem solving.PC skills (MS Office applications – Excel, Word)
