Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: Warehouse - Loads and unloads inventory items to/from customers, vendors, and company truck drivers.   Responsible for maintaining buildings, grounds, equipment, and merchandise under established guidelines. Completes a variety of records pertinent to inventory control. KEY FUNCTIONS:             1.         Loads and unloads merchandise for customers in a courteous, accurate, and expedient manner.             2.         Unloads shipments of materials from vendors, accurately verifying quantities, descriptions, and condition of goods. Notes any irregularities in the materials, communicating the information to the Door Plant Manager.             3.         Determines and assists in the placement of materials in designated locations with responsibility for the salability of these products by proper use of material handling techniques, including good housekeeping practices and appropriate machinery and equipment usage.             4.         Assists truck drivers in loading and unloading of materials for delivery or return.             5.         Reports any known variances in inventory quantities or the existence of damaged goods to the Door Plant Supervisor immediately when recognized.             6.         Coordinates inventory counts with Door Plant Foreman.             7.         Assists in gathering materials for production by using forklifts, carts, and other mechanical devices.             8.         Delivers materials from Door Plant to retail store by truck or forklift as needed.              9.         Assists in the maintenance of building, grounds, and equipment as necessary or required according to established guidelines.             10.       Prepares proper paperwork and packaging for shipping outbound merchandise via truck or freight as required.             **        Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES: 
 
  1. High School diploma, its equivalent, or successful completion of basic education requirements with job related experience.
 
 
  1. Ability to verbally communicate information to other employees and customers efficiently and diplomatically.
 
 
  1. Ability to create legible, accurately written communication to employees, customers, vendors, and others.
 
 
  1. Ability to understand and follow written or verbal instructions from supervisory personnel.
 
 
  1. Ability to organize, count with accuracy and give attention to detail.

  
 
  1. Mechanical and technical aptitude desired.
 
  1. Basic computer knowledge.
 PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 
 
  1. Ability to walk, sit, or stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) daily.
 
 
  1. Repetitive use of wrist, hands, and fingers.  Eye and hand coordination to perform collating, stamping, and filing activities.
 
 
  1. Ability to reach overhead, carry, push, pull, lift and hold items from 10 - 100 pounds regularly.  Work involves climbing, crouching, opening, reaching, and removing maneuvers.  Capability to climb ladders up to 20 feet.
 
 
  1. Ability to exert 20 pounds of pressure frequently and 50 pounds of pressure occasionally.
