Job Description: Shipping/Receiving ClerkPurpose:
This job description outlines the essential functions, reporting structure, responsibilities, authority, and performance expectations for the position of Shipping/Receiving Clerk.Basic Function:
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk is involved in all aspects of warehouse operations, which include, but are not limited to, managing inventory, pulling products, delivering merchandise to customers, and maintaining cleanliness. The role also encompasses receiving, unloading, and verifying merchandise deliveries.Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate shipment pulling, packaging, and documentation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Quick adaptability to changing processes and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and related applications.
Educational Requirements:
  • Required: High School diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: High School diploma or GED with one year of relevant experience.
Reporting Relationships:
The Shipping/Receiving Clerk reports to the Warehouse or Branch Manager. This role does not have direct reports.ADA Requirements:

Safety:
This position is considered "Safety Critical," and all safety protocols must be followed.Authority:
Shipping/Receiving Clerks I, II, and III are assigned authority by the Warehouse Manager to carry out their tasks and responsibilities.Duties and Responsibilities for Shipping/Receiving Clerks I, II, and III:
  • Verify incoming shipments against Clients' Purchase Orders (PO) for accuracy in items, quantities, and documentation.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage and report any issues to the Warehouse Manager before signing for delivery.
  • Record details of inbound shipments, including weight and box size, and scan packing lists, attaching them to the PO receipt as per Acumatica work instructions.
  • Inspect incoming products based on ANSI Z1.4 AQL level 1.5.
  • Stock incoming inventory in designated locations in Acumatica.
  • Prepare documentation for shipping materials, parts, and goods.
  • Ensure the accuracy of Pick Lists against attached customer POs.
  • Record outbound shipment data, including Country of Origin, Batch Number, Cure Date, Expiration Date, and Number of Bags.
  • Follow customer, industry, and Seal Company packaging guidelines, including labeling, color coding, and protective packaging.
  • Process Will Call customers and provide signed Pick Lists to Accounting.
  • Report inventory discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Package, label, and forward shipments to Quality for final inspection.
  • Report any safety concerns to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Adhere to ISO 9001 and AS9100 procedures.
  • Maintain a clean work area and adhere to 5S standards.
  • Operate machines such as scales, scanners, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts to handle products.
  • Confirm and prepare Pick Lists per Acumatica Shipping Clerk Work Instructions.
  • Prepare necessary shipping documents, including PO receipts, Pick Lists, bills of lading, and shipment confirmations.
  • Determine appropriate LTL shipping methods based on shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
  • Contact carrier representatives to arrange shipments and deliveries as needed.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies and order replacements through the maintenance buyer.
  • Participate in Annual Inventory or Inventory Cycle Counts as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
  • Understand shelf-life requirements and label products appropriately.
  • Perform all shipping and receiving tasks as required.
  • Operate within the principles of Character Core.
  • Undertake any additional duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
Additional Duties for Shipping/Receiving Clerk I:
  • Maintain the Shipping and Receiving areas per company standards and management instructions.
This is a Temp to hire opportunity, and the starting pay is $18.00Hours of Operation: 7:30 am to 4 pm.
