Shipping Clerk
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:Ship to customers and vendors. This includes local, courier and freight lines. Must be able to coordinate shipping with various trucking companies. Fed Ex and UPS experience would be helpful. Outgoing shipments must be prepared for shipping by shrink wrapping or boxing and creating packing slips, BOL’s for outgoing shipments. Must have basic computer skills for this. That includes email and fillable PDF’s. Need to be able to follow written instructions. All jobs have written instructions for shipping, and this must be followed. It includes method of shipment, deadlines, and other special delivery instructions. Receive incoming freight from vendors and suppliers and directing it to the correct department.Maintain box inventory and report monthly (will train to do – so some experience in inventory preferred).Prepare skids for shipment. This includes wrapping and banding. Using a hand banding machine. 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday, hours could vary. There are times position will work past 3:30pm for overtime.
